1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar browser technologies, including local or session storage, can remember a browser, maintain a secure session or retain a preference. This notice uses “technologies” to cover them together where appropriate.
2. How we use technologies
Hire Kenyan Talent uses necessary technologies to operate accounts, secure forms, prevent abuse, maintain sessions and remember privacy choices. Optional categories are available for user choice, but a category appearing in Cookie settings does not mean a technology in that category is currently active.
3. Strictly necessary
These technologies support secure sign-in, Laravel session continuity, CSRF protection, account security, user-requested payment flows, security verification such as hCaptcha where enabled, and the consent preference itself. They are always active because the requested service cannot be provided securely without them.
4. Functional
Functional technologies may remember optional convenience choices that are not required for the core platform. No consent-gated Functional integration is currently active. Cookie settings can control future optional functional integrations if introduced. Existing browser storage used directly for a requested interface choice, such as theme selection, or transient upload feedback is limited to providing that requested application behaviour and is not used for tracking.
5. Analytics
Analytics technologies would help us understand platform use and performance. No analytics technology is currently active. The consent manager includes this category so any future analytics integration must remain off until the visitor explicitly permits it.
6. Marketing
Marketing technologies could support advertising, campaign measurement, remarketing or cross-site profiling. No marketing or advertising tracker is currently active. Hire Kenyan Talent does not activate a technology merely because a visitor permits this future-facing category.

hCaptcha may set or access its own security-related technologies when its challenge is enabled and required on a protected form. Stripe payment processing is initiated only from relevant billing actions and is not loaded globally as a tracking script.
8. Your choices and consent
On a first visit, strictly necessary technologies are active and Functional, Analytics and Marketing are off. You may accept all optional categories, reject them, or choose categories individually. Scrolling, browsing, signing in or closing the preference dialog does not enable optional categories.
9. Managing and withdrawing consent
Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Saving a new choice replaces the prior choice immediately. Registered optional integrations are enabled only while their category is permitted; on withdrawal, the consent manager calls their disable and cleanup hooks. No optional analytics or marketing integration currently requires cleanup.
The choice is stored in a first-party, host-only cookie with a site-wide path, SameSite=Lax and Secure on HTTPS. It is not linked automatically to your account, email or profile. If the consent version changes or the cookie is missing, expired or invalid, optional categories return to off and the banner appears again.
10. Browser controls
You can also delete or block cookies using browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in, secure forms, payment initiation or other core features from working. Deleting the consent cookie makes the next visit behave like a first visit.
11. Third parties
Some requested services, such as hCaptcha security verification or Stripe-hosted payment pages, may operate under their own notices. We distinguish those security and payment purposes from analytics or advertising and do not classify unrelated tracking as necessary.
12. Changes
We may update this notice when technologies or their purposes change. A material change can require a new consent version, causing optional categories to return to off until a fresh choice is made.
